Getting Started with Human Subjects Research
- 
IRB 101 Online Tutorial
- Length: 1 Hour
 - Topic: Basics of human subjects research, provides important practical information about navigating the IRB process at UW
 - Recommended Audience: Required for students and residents who are listed as the principal investigator (PI) on an IRB application, recommended for everyone new to using the UW IRB

Data Security Requirements
- 
Data Security Protections: Safeguarding Research Participants’ Information
- Length: 45 Minutes
 - Topic: Overview of HSD’s data security requirements, including their purpose, explanations and examples of the human participant data risk levels, and a summary of the data security requirements by topic and risk level
 - Recommended Audience: Recommended for researchers of all levels who work with human participants data; May be used to help meet the confidentiality and security training requirement (U12) detailed on Data Security Requirements Guidance
- To Print a Certificate:
- Complete the tutorial
- On the “About This Tutorial” slide, make sure you select that you need to obtain a certificate
 - After you submit your attestation that you completed the tutorial, you will see the option to “Print Certificate”
 
 - Create and save a copy of the training certificate to your files
- When the certificate file opens, enter your name and the date you completed the tutorial (this does not automatically generate)
 - Hit the “Save” button on the certificate, or go to File>Save As
 - Save the file to a location of your choosing
