  • Addictions, Drug & Alcohol Institute (ADAI) Small Grants Program

    This program, launched in 1973, awards funds each October and March to UW researchers for pilot studies and developmental research on alcohol, cannabis, opioids, and other drugs. Funded projects range from pharmacology to studies of clinical treatment strategies, prevention, and social policy issues.
  • Bridge Funding
    The Provost’s Office provides bridge funding to support faculty to span the gap in critical research programs.
  • The Garvey Institute for Brain Health Solutions Innovation Grants
    The Garvey Institute for Brain Health Solutions Innovation Grants aim to provide funding for new ideas that have the potential to improve brain health through research, education, patient care and/or advocacy. Funding is prioritized for ideas that have the potential for substantial impact at a population level and can be sustained beyond the grant funding period.
  • Institute of Translational Health Sciences Pilot Funding
    Funding for pilot and collaborative translational and clinical research.
  • Limited Submissions
    Grants, awards and fellowships that limit the number of applications from the UW.
  • Office of Global Affairs
    The Global Innovation Fund (GIF) is managed by the Office of Global Affairs (OGA) and seeks to seed initiatives and programs that develop cross-college and cross-continent collaborations that enhance the University of Washington’s global reach.
  • Royalty Research Fund
    Supports UW faculty seeking to establish new research programs.
