As Assistant Vice Provost for Shared Research Facilities, Adam coordinates and supports Shared Research Facility activities across the University of Washington’s Seattle Campus. His work will improve operational efficiencies for research resource core facilities, streamline access to resources, and foster collaboration between core facilities and external, local research institutions and industry partners.
Adam received his B.S. in Biomedical Sciences from Central Michigan University and his PhD from the University of Pennsylvania in Cell and Molecular Biology with an emphasis on Gene Therapy and Vaccine Development.
Adam entered the shared research facility space at Cornell University, serving as the Director of Cornell’s Flow Cytometry Facility. Following a move to Seattle, Adam joined the Benaroya Research Institute, overseeing multiple shared research facilities and associated outreach efforts as Director of Shared Immunology Resources. Through both positions, Adam gained invaluable experience collaborating with University and Institute administration, faculty representatives, industry partners and individual scientists. He also led major capital investment efforts towards the acquisition of new technologies and organized and engaged user groups to ensure optimal use of cutting-edge resources while promoting positive, community focused environments in shared research facilities.
