Outgoing Subawards

A subaward is a legal agreement between the UW and another organization that:

  • Creates a formal, collaborative “sponsored program” relationship with the other organization
  • Details roles, responsibilities, and expectations, and
  • Flows down terms & conditions from the UW’s prime award to the subrecipient.

A subaward is used when a substantive portion of the programmatic work in a project is conducted at another organization.
