SAGE Budget Classes & New Resources: Preparation for SAGE Budget Requirement

With the upcoming launch of UW Finance Transformation (UWFT) in July of 2023, many research administration processes will be streamlined as we move toward a single financial system of record in Workday.

In order to streamline the award setup process, SAGE Budget will be required at the time of award setup (SAGE Budget will not be required for proposal budgeting).

What are the benefits of using SAGE Budget?

Budget information is currently shared and updated in a variety of formats (email, attachments, Excel, within SAGE, etc.), making the process difficult for reviewers and often requiring calculation validations. The current process also requires manual re-entry of budget details into the finance system.

Centralizing and having a consistent budget format in SAGE will lead to:

  • Improved data quality
  • A simplified review process
  • Auto setup of budget data in Workday through future SAGE integrations
  • Quicker turn-around times

For more information on the benefits of using SAGE Budget, visit the SAGE website.

How do I get started using SAGE Budget?

Get started using SAGE Budget today! We hope the following resources will help you transition to using SAGE Budget without any disruptions to your work.

NEW! Refer to the SAGE Budget eLearning

A new self-paced SAGE Budget eLearning resource is now available for your exploration. This companion piece to the live SAGE Budget course allows you to learn/reference all aspects of SAGE Budget via lectures with demonstrations. Content covered is similar to that in the live class but highly flexible in that you can search for and view specific content as you need it.

NOTE: This resource is not a substitution for the live course and does not count toward fulfilling certificate requirements.
