Assistant Vice Provost for Research Compliance and Administration – Carol Rhodes

 

Carol Rhodes serves as Assistant Vice Provost for research compliance and administration, working closely with the Chief Research Security Officer, the Export Control Team, Director of Compliance, and OSP Director, and serves as a member on various shared governance and committees that focus on research support and compliance.  Carol also assists with strategic institutional agreements, strengthening collaborations and opportunities for funding.

Carol was the Director of the University of Washington’s Office of Sponsored Programs from 2016-2025. Carol joined OSP in 2005 and focused on research compliance, as a Compliance Analyst and Export Control Specialist, then as the Associate Director, Compliance and Policy, before becoming Director.  Carol has been a sponsored program advisor and offered technical assistance to partner foreign universities under NIH and HRSA funding.  Before joining UW, Carol earned her law degree from the University of Oregon and was an attorney at a business law firm in Salem, Oregon.
