Background Intellectual Property

Any protectable Intellectual Property, including patents, patent applications, software, and proprietary biological materials, that are owned or controlled by UW and created or invented separately from or prior to the project’s start date and is required to conduct project activities. Background IP excludes Intellectual Property generated under the new project.
