Fiscal Year 2027 Estimated Benefit Rates Available

Preliminary Fringe Benefit Rates for fiscal year 2027 are available in SAGE, as well as in the Fringe Benefit Rates table.

These rates reflect estimated employee benefit costs to be incurred by the UW in fiscal year 2027.

Use these updated rates on multi-year sponsored program proposal budgets to best reflect anticipated costs in budget years beyond the current fiscal year.

Please see GIM 3 for the University’s policy on fringe benefit rates in sponsored programs.

These rates are also available in Adaptive Planning for FY27 Budget Proposal Development.

Final 2027 benefit rates will be published around June 30, 2026. Between now and June, there is a small chance these rates may change. If these rates change between now and the end of June, we will let you know.

We will share the final rates when they become available.

Apply updated benefit rates to a SAGE Budget in progress:

Within a SAGE Budget:

  1. Select Budget Settings in the lefthand navigation.
2Expand the Data & Calculations section, then choose Preliminary benefit rates and select the Refresh Benefit Rates link.

SAGE benefits rates selection radio button with "preliminary" selected

SAGE refresh benefit rates image with instructions - refreshing benefit rates will replace all benefit rates with the most up-to-date values for each individual on your budget. Custom benefit rates you have added will be overridden.

If you need to use FY26 rates for your budget, choose Current as your rate type in budget settings. If current FY26 rates are needed only for a single period, choose Preliminary rate type for the overall budget, then adjust just that period’s rates as necessary directly in the personnel entry details for each person listed that period.
