When should a PI be designated as an Application PI?

Use the Application PI role when:

The PI on the sponsor form must be different than the PI on the eGC1. Most often this occurs because the application PI is not eligible to be a UW PI. For example, a UW Post Doc applying for an NIH Fellowship.

Make sure Application PIs have appropriate ASTRA roles so they can review and approve eGC1s in SAGE.

ASTRA roles for Non-PI Researchers: Non-PI Eligible Researcher and Researcher Requiring Faculty Sponsor can provide the necessary basic access in SAGE.
