UW is No. 10 in US News Best Global Universities ranking; No. 2 among US public institutions

The University of Washington maintained its No. 10 spot on the U.S. News & World Report’s Best Global Universities rankings, released Tuesday. The UW is second among American public institutions.

“Once again, it’s great to see the University of Washington recognized for the impact of our scholarship and research. This ranking is a tribute to the opportunities we seek to create for the talented students learning at our public institution,” UW President Ana Mari Cauce said.

Now in its fifth year, the Best Global Universities methodology – which is based on Web of Science data and metrics provided by Clarivate Analytics InCites – weighs factors that measure a university’s global and regional research reputation and academic research performance. For the overall rankings, this includes bibliometric indicators such as publications, citations and international collaboration. The top 1,250 schools were ranked.
