Mentoring the Mentor Workshop – Register for 2025 Fall Session

UW faculty, chairs, PIs and Postdoc Supervisors are invited to register for the upcoming Mentoring the Mentor (MtM) workshop, to be held Friday, November 14, 2025. Coffee and tea will be available starting at 8:30 AM, and the workshop will run from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM.

This interactive session, offered biannually by the Office for Academic Personnel & Faculty, is designed for Full Professors, Department Chairs, Training Grant PIs, and Postdoctoral Supervisors. It provides an opportunity to review, share, and explore best practices in academic mentorship through presentations, case studies, and group discussions.

The workshop will focus on three key themes:
  • Whole Person – Inviting a holistic, bidirectional relationship
  • Structure and Support – Setting clear expectations on both sides
  • Mentoring Across Differences – Acknowledging and working with identity and background differences
