Mari Ostendorf Named Vice Provost for Research

Provost Mark Richards has announced the appointment of Mari Ostendorf as the University of Washington’s fourth Vice Provost for Research, set to begin September 1.

Ostendorf has been serving as Associate Vice Provost for Research since 2017. She holds an Endowed Professorship of System Design Methodologies in the College of Engineering’s Electrical and Computer Engineering Department, is an adjunct professor in Computer Science and Engineering, and in Linguistics. She also has served as Associate Dean for Research and Graduate Studies in the College of Engineering, and as Associate Chair for Research in Electrical Engineering. Her exceptional educational accomplishments and research interests are described in a recent UW News Release.
