SUBJECT: Activities Involving Human Subjects, Including Clinical Research: Requirements for Review to Insure the Rights and Welfare of Individuals

 Effective: February 1, 1993

The policy of the University of Washington concerning the use of human subjects is set forth in the University Handbook, Volume Four, Part II, Chapter 2, as well as in the Human Subjects Manual, available on the Human Subjects Division website. This latter document also contains Human Subjects Review Committee guidelines.

Where there are questions or uncertainties as to the preparation or handling of proposals involving human subjects, assistance is available from the Human Subjects Review Coordinators, Human Subjects Division, telephone 3-0098.
