Center on Reinventing Public Education

The Center on Reinventing Public Education (CRPE) is a policy research group dedicated to finding innovative, effective ways to
transform our education system so that all students—especially disadvantaged children in urban districts—have equal access to quality public education. For two decades, CRPE has identified systemic and emerging problems in public education and offered evidence-based solutions informed by rigorous research and balanced analysis.

CRPE analyzes K-12 issues ranging from school choice and charter schools to finance, productivity, and leadership. Our work emphasizes evidence over posture and confronts hard truths. We search outside the traditional boundaries of education to find pragmatic, equitable, and promising approaches to address the complex challenges facing public
education. Our goal is to create new possibilities for the parents, educators, and public officials who strive to improve America's schools.

CRPE is a self-sustaining organization affiliated with the University of Washington. Our work is funded entirely through private philanthropic
dollars, federal grants, and contracts.
