Metabolic and Cellular Phenotyping Core

VISIT CENTER

Description

NIH Funded (P30 DK017047) Core Lab of the Diabetes Research Center that offers precise real time in-vitro & in-vivo (rodent) metabolic measurements.

Type

Services: A range of metabolic endpoints can be assessed in unstressed, freely-moving, chronically catheterized, conscious rodents. These include (but are not limited to) glucose tolerance, hormone (e.g. insulin, glucagon, GLP-1) secretion, insulin sensitivity, continuous glucose monitoring, tissue glucose uptake and production.

Keywords: General

Mouse metabolic phenotyping, clamps, tolerance test, glucose, insulin, metabolic flux

Keywords: Specific

Hyperinsulinemic-euglycemic clamp, glucose uptake, glucose tolerance test, insulin sensitivity, insulin secretion, glucose effectiveness, insulin tolerance test, gluconeogenesis
