Center for Epilepsy Drug Discovery (CEDD)

Mission

The CEDD is committed to the discovery of novel drugs for the treatment and prevention of acquired drug-resistant epilepsy using translationally relevant animal models, discovery and pharmacological validation of novel rodent epilepsy models, and to the training of next-generation epilepsy investigators and healthcare professionals.

Core Services Offered

Antiseizure medicine (ASM) discovery; disease-modification studies, ASM pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics, seizure and epilepsy model development; training of undergraduate, graduate and professional students with an interest in preclinical epilepsy research and neurotherapeutics discovery.

Funding Information

National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke, National Institute of Aging, American Epilepsy Society, Washington Research Foundation, and pharmaceutical industry-sponsored research.
