Forklift Operator Safety Training

This hands-on course covers inspection and safe operation of powered industrial trucks. This course will teach you about the operational differences between a car and a forklift, power sources, capabilities, stability, and carbon monoxide hazards while operating propane or diesel trucks inside buildings. A written test and a driving test, scheduled separately from the class day, must be completed to receive an operator’s license.

Who is required to take this training?

Employees who operate forklifts

Summary of the requirement

All researchers, employees, and students planning to operate a forklift, motorized pallet jack or walkie (Powered Industrial Trucks) are required to have this certification training. Learners can operate a forklift under the direct supervision of a certified operator until they are sufficiently skilled to take the class.
