NIH Data Management & Sharing Policy FAQs

NIH recently updated its Data Management & Sharing Policy FAQs with some new budgeting Q&A that we think you’ll find useful.

Please note that if you are including a subrecipient in the proposal, to include the subrecipient’s data management and sharing costs in the UW budget line item under “Data Management and Sharing Costs”. NIH indicates the subrecipient’s data management and sharing costs should not be within individual subaward budgets, for proposal purposes (see Section 3 Budget/Costs, Question 3).

If awarded, note that the individual subrecipient’s DMS costs will need to be included in the subrecipient’s budget when sending over a subaward request to OSP via SAGE.
