Enjoys mentoring and being an advocate for minorities in STEM fields. Enjoys spending time with family and chasing her toddler around. Received a DO-IT Trailblazer award in 2005.

Earned an associate degree in integrated studies from Cascadia Community College and a bachelor’s degree in global studies with a minor in human rights from the University of Washington Bothell. Investigating personal genealogy, as well as helping other genealogists, and sharing the findings on Ancestry.com through the “Carter Family Tree.” Completed hand-stitching a Christmas stocking, part of which was self-designed. Working on creating a new hand-stitching pattern in Excel. Received a DO-IT Trailblazer award in 2012.
