Program Description
The Undergraduate Research Leaders (URLs) are a cohort of undergraduates from a wide variety of disciplines who support the Office of Undergraduate Research mission to engage students in undergraduate research, inquiry, and creative work. They provide critical perspective to Office of Undergraduate Research programming and conduct outreach across the campus, sharing their unique personal experiences with undergraduate research at the UW.
Eligibility
- Must be a current UW undergraduate student.
- Must have at least 3 quarters of experience in research, scholarship, or creative activities, OR an intensive full-time summer research experience by the start of Fall 2023.
URL Responsibilities
URLs will receive a scholarship of $250 each quarter and be expected to commit 1-2 hours per week to the position. Selected applicants must attend the mandatory URL Orientation and Training prior to the start of Fall quarter – date coming soon.
Our team of URLs will be responsible for the following:
- Attend bi-weekly team meetings facilitated by URP staff
- Participate in outreach events such as information sessions and panels
- Manage and facilitate monthly Research Cafe events
- Support abstract review for the Undergraduate Research Symposium
- Provide clerical support for the Office of Undergraduate Research
- Provide important student perspective on Office of Undergraduate Research programming
URP staff are available and willing to support any additional projects or initiatives created by URLs.
