Recreation

The Waterfront Great Room is a long rectangular shaped room (66′ X 30′).  Per our fire code maximum, our space can accommodate 100 people total (max seating can vary based on requested setup). In good weather, there’s an adjoining sundeck that may be used for barbecues, etc.

Reservation Process

    1. Use our Reservation Calendar (see below) to check room availability.  7:30am is the earliest access to our facility.
    2. Email Waterfront Manager, Rod Smith, a completed Rental Inquiry Form (see below) to receive an estimate and Rental Contract.
    3. Final event approval will come via email, upon receipt of signed Rental Contract and payment of any applicable fees.

Room Layouts

Pictured below are some of our more popular setups.  Our Standard Setup comes with every room rental at no additional cost.  Custom setups (Theater, Classroom, Banquet, Horseshoe, Conference) can be accommodated, but come with a setup fee.  If our more popular custom setups do not meet your needs, you are welcome to diagram your own preferred layout using any of our available furnishings and amenities; any setups of this type will incur the same custom setup fee as our Theater, Classroom, Banquet, Horseshoe, and Conference sets.  Please see our custom setup documents above or the video at the top of the page for more details.

Kitchenette

The kitchenette is located across the hall and is available for each rental at no additional charge. It includes a sink, counter, refrigerator and microwave oven. There are no utensils, cups, dishes, or cooking oven.  We do not provide linens.

Equipment

Equipment available for each rental are:

      • (100) conference chairs
      • (20) 3’x5′ rectangular conference tables, (10) 60″ round tables, (9) 3’x5′ catering tables
      • Phone line, ethernet, and wireless access
      • (2) 75″ HDTVs + HuskyTV streaming cable (HBO, ESPN, PAC-12, etc.)
      • Ceiling mounted projector + pull down projection screen
      • (2) wireless microphones + sound system
      • Outdoor patio w/deck speakers and folding deck chairs
      • Outdoor bistro tables
      • Propane grill (gas not provided)
      • Fireplace + firewood

Serving Alcohol

A Washington State Banquet permit and UW Office of Special Programs ASR approval email must be posted if alcohol is present. NO EXCEPTIONS!

      • Complete the “University of Washington Authorization to Apply for a Banquet Permit to Serve Alcoholic Beverages”
      • After you have completed the form in full and submitted it online, it will be electronically forwarded for two additional approvals: Waterfront Manager – Rod Smith and a representative from the Office of Special Programs
      • Purchase a state-issued liquor permit online using a credit card.
      • Post both the approved UW application and the purchased WA State Liquor Control Board Banquet Permit the day of your event on the bulletin board in the upstairs hallway, just outside the Waterfront Great Room.
      • Failure to post both permits means NO alcohol will be allowed in the WAC Building.
      • The Great Room is the only space within the WAC building where alcohol may be served, and/or consumed.

Parking

Parking is available for a fee in lots E-19 and E-21, adjacent to the WAC, at $4.00/hour or $17.00 for all day. The availability of parking cannot be guaranteed. Citations may be issued to vehicles who fail to pay at the pay station.

If you plan on parking at our facility while attending an event at the WAC, please pay at the pay station located directly in front of the WAC or contact the Parking Services Special Events Office at (206) 616-8710 for information.
