What happened to the Pavilion Pool?

Over winter break, the Pavilion Pool suffered a catastrophic mechanical, electrical, and plumbing failure and is closed permanently. Due to the catastrophic nature of this failure, the cost and time involved in attempting a repair are no longer feasible. UW Recreation manages the Pavilion Pool, but it is in the Hec. Ed. Pavilion building which is an ICA (Intercollegiate Athletics) facility. The Hec. Ed. Pavilion building is slated to be demolished later this year as a part of the ICA Basketball Operations construction project. We had hoped to keep the Pavilion Pool going until later this year when it will be demolished, but unfortunately this 83-year-old pool is no longer a viable option. This means the UW campus will be without a pool until the IMA Locker Rooms & Pool renovation project is completed.

Can I submit a Maintenance or Custodial Request?
