Sports officiating offers a fun, social environment and a flexible, on-campus work schedule. Training is provided by the intramural professional staff. UW students only, no prior officiating experience necessary.

Hiring for spring term – Intrmaural Softball and Soccer Officials.



Officials’ Info Meeting: Thu. Mar. 5th, 6-7pm – IMA Lounge

Priority Application Deadline: Thu. Mar. 5th, 11:59pm

Mandatory Hiring Assessment:

  • Softball Assessment – Sun. Mar. 8th, 11am-1pm – Rec Turf Field #3
  • Soccer Assessment – Sun. Mar. 8th, 2pm-4pm – Rec Turf Field #1
    • Please bring a water bottle and wear athletic attire/gym shoes. Come ready to move!

Applicants interested in learning more about officiating for Intramural Sports should attend the Officials’ Info Meeting. The priority deadline to submit an application is Thu. Mar. 5th, 11:59pm. Applicants will be invited to the Soccer and/or Softball Hiring Assessment(s). The Hiring Assessment act as an applicant’s interview and must be attended to be considered for the position. Interested applicants who did not submit an application before the application deadline are welcome to come to the Assessment, however, an application must be filled out directly following the event if not already completed.

Hired officials must attend the required training clinics for their sport(s). Training dates and times are listed below:

Fri. Apr. 10th 7:45pm-10:15pm

Information covered in officials’ training is designed to help you become a better employee and official, and you are responsible for knowing the rules and basic mechanics. Officials training is intended to emphasize important aspects of the Intramural Program.
