OUR PROGRAM

The Adaptive Sports program at UW Recreation aims to give athletic opportunities to students with physical disabilities while fostering a community that promotes inclusion and wellness for all. Currently we have a wheelchair basketball league, and are planning to incorporate both sitting volleyball and wheelchair tennis in the coming year. The Recruiting Process

Our process focuses on evaluating athletic potential, academic standing, and character. Prospective athletes are encouraged to submit game footage, athletic resumes, and academic transcripts for review by our coaching staff.

The crown jewel of our daily training, the IMA features state-of-the-art, fully accessible fitness centers, specialized adaptive strength training equipment, and multi-purpose courts tailored for wheelchair sports practice. Featuring custom court dimensions and custom hardwood finishes optimized for high-performance chairs.
