Dawg Daze is an important time of the year where new students get the opportunity to get involved with everything we have to offer here at UW Recreation. From club fairs and lawn games to free rock climbing at the CRAGS, there is something for every student to experience during this special week!

UW WILD Events
Climb at Crags
Climb for free with us, make new friends in the climbing community at UW, and see what Crags Climbing Center has to offer. Even if you’re new to climbing, we’ll have staff members on hand with tips on how to get started bouldering or give you on info on our climbing classes.
Bring your own climbing shoes if you have them, or free rentals will be provided if you don’t (first come first served). No obligation to buy a Crags Quarter Pass but with our affordable prices we are sure you’ll want to come back for more climbing!

Registration: Sign up early here to secure your spot in one of our three sessions. Choose the option “Dawg Daze – Climb at Crags”
You can also stop by the UWild Climbing/Crags Climbing Center table at the UW Recreation Fair outside the IMA to secure a walk-in spot (first come first served). Once there you also can try your hand at our games to enter a raffle to win prizes, including a free Crags Quarter Pass. Three sessions will be offered with approximately 30-40 min of bouldering in each (participants can only sign up for one arrival time and must leave the gym at the end of their time slot). Spaces in each session are open for registration beginning on September 14th @ 10am with additional spaces reserved day of for walk-ins.

WAC Boat Rentals
Free 2-hour Paddleboard/Boat Rental at the WAC for First Year Students with valid Student Husky Card. Limit 1 use per Husky Card.
Come explore the Arboretum or the Union Bay Natural Area from a new perspective! We rent paddleboards, canoes, single kayaks, and double kayaks to the UW Community and the public. We offer discounted rates if you have your current Student or Employee Husky Card (around 25% and 15% respectively)! During Dawg Daze, First Year Students (with their Husky Card) can rent any of these options for up to 2-hour for free!
