New CoENV site

The College of the Environment recently launched a new site with more focus on stories about the people and work that make the college stand out. Drew Collins will give us a tour.

Micro-branding within the UW Web

Special guest Lauren Hall-Stigerts will discuss why we should stick to brand guidelines and give tips on how we can follow them without sacrificing personality. Lauren is an internet marketing consultant who helps companies get noticed through content strategy and social media. She previously worked for SEOmoz (now Moz) as a marketing communications manager.

Arboretum Web Map

UW Botanic Gardens has been hard at work on a multi-layer, online interactive map scheduled to launch next year. With the help of the Institute of Museum and Library Services and a team of students and volunteers, UWBG staffers have surveyed, digitized and mapped 80 percent of the 230-acre Arboretum. Tracy Mehlin and David Campbell will outline the journey from hand-drafted paper map to digitized data to online interactive map on an ArcGIS Server.
