Class Registration Info

Eligibility

Instruction for a variety of activities is offered for a small fee on a non-credit basis to currently-enrolled UW students, faculty/staff and their spouses/registered domestic partners who possess an IMA Membership. You must purchase an IMA membership prior to registering for a class.

Note: UW Alumni are not eligible.

Registration Dates

  • Fall Quarter 2015 registration begins September 28. Course offerings available to view the week of September 21. Classes begin the week of October 12.
  • Winter Quarter 2016 registration begins December 28. Course offerings available to view the week of December 21. Classes begin the week of January 19.
  • Spring Quarter 2016 registration begins March 21. Course offerings available to view the week of March 14. Classes begin the week of April 11.
  • Summer Quarter 2016 registration begins June 13Course offerings available to view the week of June 6. Classes begin the week of June 27.

Register Online

Check the online course catalog for available classes each quarter. If a UW student/faculty/staff spouse or registered domestic partner (IMA Members) wants to register online, please contact the IMA Programs Office at imafit@uw.edu for directions on how to access the system.

General Classes Offered
  • Aquatics – Aqua Zumba, Deep Water Exercise, Swim Conditioning, Swim Instruction
  • Cardio/Dance – Cardio Dance, Cardio Kickboxing, Cycling, Hip Hop, Step & Core, Zumba
  • Health/Safety – Body Fat Testing, First Aid & CPR, Self Defense
  • Martial Arts – Aikido Shin Ryu, Judo, Shotokan Karate, Kung Fu, Tae Kwon Do, Tai Chi
  • Mind/Body – Intro to Meditation, MBSR or Mindfulness Serving Life, Pilates, Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga, Beginning Yoga, Gentle Yoga, Hatha Yoga, Intermediate Yoga, Iyengar Yoga, Vinyasa Yoga
  • Sports – Badminton, Handball, International Squash, Racquetball, Rowing, Tennis (Indoor & Outdoor)
  • Strength/Conditioning – Ab Lab, ABSolute Conditioning, Boot Camp, Circuit Training, High Intensity Training, Interval Training, Kettlebell Training, Ski Conditioning, Slam & Swing, Total Toning, TRX, Beginning Weight Training

Register by Walk-in

8:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. (M-F) (Except as noted below)

  • Closed during all University Holidays
  • 8:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. (On IMA Early Close Days)
  • 11:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. (On IMA Late Open Days)
  • Extended Hours: 8:30 a.m. – 7:00 p.m. (April 11-14, 2016)

In-person registration will be taken at the Programs Office desk, 3rd floor IMA. Please bring your Husky card or IMA Membership card and payment (checks, Visa/Mastercard/Discover and cash accepted).  A registration form is not needed for walk-in.

Register by Fax

Fax registration must be received two business days prior to the class start date. Visa/Mastercard/Discover will be accepted.  You will receive a confirmation email when your registration has been processed.

Register by Mail-in

Mail-in registration must be postmarked five business days prior to the class start date.  Checks and Visa/Mastercard/Discover will be accepted. Make checks payable to: “UW”.  You will receive a confirmation email when your registration has been processed.

Tax

Prices include sales tax where applicable. Please note that Washington state sales tax is 9.6%.

Holidays

No classes will be held on January 18 and February 15.
