STEP 1. Participate in a URP Research Information Session
We require all students to participate in an info session before scheduling an individual advising appointment.
Attend a Live Session in MGH 171
Learn the steps for getting involved in an undergraduate research experience at UW. This session covers what research at UW looks like, benefits of undergraduate research, who can get involved, and how to find and write an introductory email to a research mentor.

STEP 2. Schedule an Individual Advising Appointment
Please make sure to attend or watch an info session before coming to individual advising.
URP advisors are available for advising on all aspects of undergraduate research, including:
- Identifying potential research mentors
- Applying for research programs
- Getting academic credit for research
- Presenting or publishing your research
- Writing an email to a potential mentor
