Apply for Upward Bound

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Must be a current 9th or 10th grader
  • Must attend Chief Sealth, Cleveland, Franklin, or Kent-Meridian High School in King County, WA
  • Must be a potential first generation college student and/or low-income:
    • First generation is defined as neither parent having a four-year degree.
    • Low-income is defined by federal guidelines.
  • Must be a citizen, national, or permanent resident of the United States or be in the United States for other than a temporary purpose and provide evidence from the Immigration & Naturalization Service of their intent to become a permanent resident. Permanent residents of Guam, the Northern Mariana Islands, or the Trust Territory of the Pacific Islands or residents of the Freely Associated States—the Federated States of Micronesia, the Republic of the Marshall Islands, or the Republic of Palau are also eligible
  • Must have a need for academic support in order to pursue successfully a program of education beyond high school
  • Must not be a participant in another federal TRIO program (Math & Science Upward Bound or Talent Search)
