Student, staff, and alumni volunteers are critical to the success of the Undergraduate Research Symposium. We welcome and appreciate all event volunteers!
Volunteers can sign up for as many shifts as they choose. The available volunteer shifts are:
Wednesday, May 17th and Thursday, May 18th before the Symposium
Material preparation: Readying materials for the Symposium Day
- Wednesday – 11 a.m.-1 p.m. or 1-3 p.m.
- Thursday – 10 a.m.-12 p.m. or 12-2 p.m.
Pre-event setup: Setup easels, tables, etc. in preparation for the Big Day!
- Thursday – 4-6 p.m.
Friday, May 19th the day of the Symposium
General Assistants: Greeters, Poster Setup, Traffic Directors, Food and Beverage Station Attendants, Registration Support, Signage, etc.
- 8-10 a.m.
- 10 a.m.-12 p.m.
- 12-2 p.m.
- 2-4 p.m.
- 4-6 p.m.
Tear down: Clean up and tear down the event.
- 5:45-7 p.m.
Oral Presentation Session Assistants: Take a fun, important and active role in assisting Oral Presenters and Faculty Moderators with technical equipment, keeping time, etc. for oral presentations.
Note: Session Assistant Volunteers must be willing to attend a brief training prior to the Symposium.
- 12-2:15 p.m.
- 3-5:15 p.m.
Registration: Assistance in registering all presenters of the Undergraduate Research Symposium.
By Invitation Only: Registration Volunteers must be invited by URP staff to sign-up and train for registration shifts.
