Undergraduate Research Program
Student, staff, and alumni volunteers are critical to the success of the Undergraduate Research Symposium. We welcome and appreciate all event volunteers!
Volunteers can sign-up for as many shifts as they choose. The available volunteer shifts are:
Wednesday, May 13th and Thursday, May 14th before the Symposium
Material preparation: Readying materials for Symposium Day.
- Wednesday – 11 a.m.-1 p.m. or 1-3 p.m.
- Thursday – 10 a.m.-12 p.m. or 12-2 p.m.
Pre-event setup: Setup easels, tables, etc. in preparation for the Big Day.
- Thursday – 4-6 p.m.
Friday, May 15th the day of the Symposium
General Assistants: Greeters, Poster Setup, Traffic Directors, Food and Beverage Station Attendants, Registration Support, Signage, etc.
- 8-10 a.m.
- 10 a.m.-12 p.m.
- 12-2 p.m.
- 2-4 p.m.
- 4-6 p.m.
Oral Presentation Session Assistants: Take a fun, important and active role in assisting Oral Presenters and Faculty Moderators with technical equipment, keeping time, etc. for oral presentations.
Note: Session Assistant Volunteers must be willing to attend a brief training prior to the Symposium.
- 12-2:15 p.m.
- 3-5:15 p.m.
Registration: Assistance in registering all presenters of the Undergraduate Research Symposium.
By Invitation Only: Registration Volunteers must be invited by URP staff to sign-up and train for registration shifts.
- 7:45-10 a.m.
- 10 a.m.-12:30 p.m.
Tear down: Clean up and tear down the event.
- 5:45-7 p.m.
