The University of Washington’s Upward Bound program has been serving eligible students at Cleveland High School since 1983. We started working with Franklin High School in 2000 and added Chief Sealth International High School in 2012.

Upward Bound prepares students for college. It is a federally-funded program for students from economically disadvantaged backgrounds and/or from families in which the student will be the first generation to complete a four-year college degree.

There is no charge for Upward Bound services. Interested students in the 9th and 10th grades at the above high schools should talk to their counselors about applying. We recruit new students into the program from mid-December to February each year.
