SAB Executive Board Applications

The Student Advisory Board is currently seeking student leaders who are passionate about diversity, equity, and social justice and working with underrepresented, first generation, and marginalized communities to apply for a leadership position and join the SAB executive board. The executive board leads a community of RSO representatives, ASUW constituents and other campus leaders in dialogue and discussions on issues affecting our communities such as campus climate, elections & I-1,000, and the 2020 Census to name a few.

2023-2024 SAB Board Positions

  • Act as official SAB spokesperson
  • Interface directly with UW entities and government officials
  • Facilitate all OMA&D SAB meetings
  • Prepare an agenda for each OMA&D SAB meeting
  • Plan SAB Retreat if executive board Committee plans to have one
  • SAB representation on the following committees (subject to change):
    • Provost Advisory Committee
    • Joint Commission Council
    • All other events/programs assigned by OMA&D VP
  • Consult with ECC Director on SAFC process

Time Commitment: 3hrs/week
Compensations: $500/quarter

  • Hold accountable and serve as a support to all other Executive Board position
  • Serve as a day-to-day coordinator to make sure committee progresses forward throughout the year
  • Maintain any sub-committee status, progress, etc.
  • Chair SAB meeting when Chair is not present
  • Act as expert on SAB parliamentary procedures and Robert’s Rules of Order
    • Will provide education and train the rest of the board
    • Will ensure parliamentary procedure is followed
  • SAB representation on the following committees (subject to change):
    • OMA&D Friends of EOP
    • ASUW Senate

Attend executive board Committee meetings

  • Record meeting minutes at each SAB meeting
  • Distribute a copy of recent meeting minutes to SAB members within 48 hours. and upon request
  • Keep attendance and notify Chair of any vacancies on the board
  • Archiving all meeting’s minutes in the shared folder
  • Keep attendance record on minutes
  • Manage SAB email account and email correspondence
  • Attend executive board Committee meetings
  • Committees–Diversity Council (subject to change)

Time Commitment: 3 hr/week
Compensation: $300/quarter

  • Coordinate all content on the shared SAB google drive
  • Communicate with various constituencies about issues and/or opportunities for discussion
  • Recruit members for the Inclusive Registered Student Organizations seats and at large seat
  • Oversee the membership selection and retaining process (checking in on members not showing to meetings)
  • SAB representation on the following committees (subject to change):
    • Campus Sustainability Fund (CSF)
  • Attend executive board committee meetings

  • Create and maintain SAB instagram and facebook
  • Research and bring relevant topics to the Committee and bring discussion on the impact to the OMAD Community
  • Research and educate other SAB and student constituencies of UW policies—EH&S; Faculty Senate; ASUW, GPSS, etc.
  • Monitor student representatives’ effectiveness vis-à-vis relaying information to their constituents, including periodic emails to organization presidents.
  • At the end of the quarter (Fall and Winter) will email out an evaluation form to constituents of effectiveness of representation of SAB Chairperson
  • Attend executive board committee meetings
  • Committees–Diversity Council (subject to change)

Compensation: $300/quarter
