IMSD is a series of innovative services and support mechanisms aimed to dramatically increase the ability of our biomedical graduate programs to attract, retain, and promote the success of underrepresented minority students.

IMSD PROGRAM – SPECIFIC AIMS

  • To extend, expand and maintain innovative undergraduate programs to improve the academic preparedness and competitiveness of undergraduate underrepresented (URM) students by facilitating their academic progress toward undergraduate biomedical and behavioral majors and subsequent graduate degree attainment
  • To extend, expand and maintain research experiences through increased faculty, departmental, and university-wide partnerships that foster connections for URM students to succeed in pursuing biomedical and behavioral undergraduate majors and subsequent graduate degree attainment
  • To increase the percentage of URM students matriculating to graduate school in the biomedical and behavioral sciences
  • To continue to collect data that informs and guides programmatic efforts
