General Education (GE) Requirement Descriptions and Learning Outcomes
The University of Washington maintains seven General Education requirements for all undergraduates: Arts & Humanities (A&H), Natural Sciences (NSc), Social Sciences (SSc), Diversity (DIV), Reasoning (RSN), English Composition (C), and Writing (W). Among the seven, five are currently reviewed at the University level: A&H, NSc, SSc, RSN, and C.
The following descriptions and learning outcomes statements have been developed to guide development and review of proposals for new courses and course changes.
