Recent Accessible Technology Staff Addition: Jeane
Hello, my name is Jeane Marty (she/her), and I am an accessibility developer with Accessible Technology Services (ATS.) My work involves reviewing websites and web applications for accessibility, teaching other developers how to code accessibly, and various programming projects.
I've enjoyed programming since my first tech job with a start-up company in 2000 and have worked in a variety of environments from private industry to higher ed creating and supporting both web sites and web applications.
My journey with learning accessible coding in particular started while I worked at Michigan State University and has been honed through many practical implementations as well as from expert advice and mentoring from colleagues throughout the years. I consider accessible coding a foundational competency for any interface developer and at ATS I hope to have many opportunities to help other developers strenghten this skill.
I have been at UW since 2013 and joined ATS in 2024. I co-lead the UW Front-end Tech Community of Practice and have been an active participant in UW's accessibility meetup during my tenure here.
My undergraduate degree was in Community Studies from University of California Santa Cruz and I worked as an activity director and administrator in retirement homes before turning to the tech field.
I am very glad to be a part of the ATS team!
For fun I enjoy reading, long walks, and the Northwest summers.
