DO-IT Summer Scholars program provides real world experiences

The annual DO-IT Summer Scholars program for teens with disabilities—giving high-achieving students a head-start by preparing them for college, careers, independent living, and leadership—was highlighted this summer by a presentation from the Deputy Director of the new Sensorimotor Neural Engineering Center (see above news item). He told DO-IT students how they could participate in center activities, and according to UW-IT's Sheryl Burgstahler, Director of DO-IT, the students provided valuable input to the center?s architects to help ensure that it is fully accessible to everyone with disabilities.
