On August 8, 2009, DO-IT will host an Asperger's Transition to STEM workshop at the UW Seattle. It will acquaint high school students on the autism spectrum with the process of transitioning to college, opportunities offered by AccessSTEM, and tips from college-age Ambassadors with Asperger's syndrome. Students will learn how to apply for AccessSTEM internships, will hear the diverse options for internships through AccessSTEM, and will learn how AccessSTEM internships can help in selecting a college and can influence future employment. Lunch will be provided. For more information, contact Mike Lewis, DO-IT staff, at (206) 685-3648.
