Happy Holidays 2025: End of Quarter Message

In the Loop Newsletter

December 3, 2025

Dear Huskies,

As the quarter draws to a close, we know you might be juggling textbooks, study guides, and perhaps a bit of end-of-quarter stress. But remember—you are doing great! In this final newsletter, we’re sharing tips and strategies to help you finish strong and make the most of your upcoming break.

Take Care of Yourself During Finals

Finals can be intense, which is why taking care of yourself should be an essential part of your study plan. To help you cross the finish line, try scheduling short, restorative breaks, getting enough sleep, and fueling your brain with nutritious meals. And remember, you don’t have to prepare alone. Review materials with classmates, take advantage of study groups, and don’t hesitate to visit your TA’s office hours for last-minute questions. Creating a clear study plan can help you feel more prepared and in control. Finally, celebrate the small wins along the way—enjoying a favorite snack, listen to 15 minutes of music, or take a short walk. Every exam, paper, and presentation you complete is a solid step forward toward successfully wrapping up the fall quarter successfully.

Get Ready for Winter Quarter

Looking ahead to Winter Quarter, there is much to look forward to. Mark your calendar for the big in-person Career Fair on February 4, 2026—a great opportunity to make valuable professional connections, so consider polishing your resume in advance! As you finalize your course schedule, take a moment to consider your class load and practice effective time management. If you’re planning to apply for on-campus job, now also is a great time to prepare your materials, as many departments begin hiring early in the quarter. If a summer internship is on your radar, we encourage you to check industry timelines, update your LinkedIn profile, and start preparing early.

Enjoy a Restful Winter Break

Your well-deserved winter break is just around the corner! If you plan to travel outside the U.S., be sure to request a travel signature from International Student Services (ISS) before you leave. We also encourage you to check the ISS website regularly for the latest updates and guidance on visas and travel documents to ensure a smooth trip and return.
