The Office of Undergraduate Research, with it’s partners, are excited to announce this years Undergraduate Research Symposium!
The Undergraduate Research Symposium is a momentous occasion for undergraduate students, their mentors, and the further UW and surrounding, as well as global, communities. For students, it is a time to showcase their efforts, work, and quests for inquiry in their dedicated research area and interests. For mentors, a time to recognize and celebrate their mentee accomplishment and ability as well as a time to reflect on the amazement of your students! And for our communities, these students and their mentors bring-forth answers to questions and inquiries, attempting to bring on solution to some of the most challenging problems of our times whilst recognizing our culture, history, and more spanning over 100 disciplines.
Event Details
The 27th Annual Undergraduate Research Symposium will happen 17 May 2024, filled with poster presentation, oral sessions, performing arts showcases, and visual arts and design presentations. Applications are being accepted from 3 January to 8 February 2024.
Please look forward to more information, including an official proceedings, in the coming months.

The application opens 3 January 2024 and are accepted until the deadline 8 February 2024 (view full timeline here). The Symposium is accessible and open to UW students spanning all disciplines, including various styles and types of research, and varying presentation types (from oral and poster to visual arts, design, and performing arts). When applying, be sure to consult not only your mentor, but our guidelines for both abstract and artist statements. For applicants, feel free to consult our presenter resources, including design and technical tips, as well as a library of resources to prepare you for the big day.
