Who We Serve

GEAR UP currently serves approximately 8,000 students in 33 schools in 27 school districts throughout Washington State. Schools participate using either a cohort or priority model.

The cohort model serves an entire grade (~7,000 students). The program will follow the students in this grade until high school graduation in 2017. We currently offer services to these 20 cohort model schools:

  • Rogers High School (Spokane)
  • Ft. Vancouver High School (Vancouver)

  • Ilwaco Middl/High School (Ocean Beach)
  • Kettle Falls High School
  • Lewis & Clark High School (Spokane)
  • North Central High School (Spokane)
  • Oakland Bay Junior High and High School (Shelton)
  • Okanogan High School
  • Skyview High School (Vancouver)
  • South Bend High School
  • Thomas Jefferson High School (Federal Way)
  • Wahkiakum High School
  • West Valley High School (Spokane)

The priority model serves only GEAR UP eligible students  (~1,000 students – grades 7-12). We currently offer services to 12 priority model schools:

  • Naselle Junior & High School
  • Pateros Junior & High School
  • Rosalia Elementary & Secondary School
