Description

This academy offers a comprehensive blend of academic preparation, personal development, and community building. The program is specially designed to provide incoming freshman GEAR UP Achievers & RISE UP students with a smooth transition into your college journey. It will be held two weeks before the start of fall semester.

Program Dates

2-week program

  • Week 1 (Virtual): September 9 – 13, 2024. Daily from 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM
  • Week 2 (In person): September 16 – 20, 2024. Daily from 9:30 AM – 4:00 PM

Location

Part virtual and part on the University of Washington – Seattle campus.

Eligibility

Students who are in GEAR UP Achievers South King County or GEAR UP RISE UP programs and will be attending the University of Washington – Seattle in the fall of 2024.

Program Goals

  • Academic Readiness: Take a math course! Equip students with the foundational skills and knowledge necessary for success in college-level coursework.
  • Personal Growth: Foster personal development and resilience through workshops, mentorship, and experiential learning opportunities.
  • Community Connection: Establish a supportive network among peers, faculty, and staff to cultivate a sense of belonging and engagement within the university community.

Priority Deadline – August 9, 2024

Complete this interest form. Once complete, an application will be sent to you via the email you provide.
