Live jazz accompanies Chamber Dance Companys lively ‘Cantos Gordos — with video

Each year the UW Chamber Dance Company revives classic dances, but they dont often perform to live music. This year, thanks to a grant from the National Endowment for the Arts, theyll do just that. Cantos Gordos, by Bebe Miller, will have accompaniment from an ensemble of accomplished musicians, playing music by jazz great Don Byron.

Nations such as China and India are surging ahead, but the West should be careful not to overestimate, misinterpret the changes or “become paralyzed by fear of our own decline,” British ambassador to the U.S. Nigel Sheinwald told a UW international studies class during a visit to campus.
