WHAT:
Advising & Orientation (A&O) is your introduction to the Husky Experience. You’re required to complete all three parts:
- A&O Part 1: Self-guided New Husky Checklist and Husky Foundation Course
- A&O Part 2: Live one- or two-day sessions on Zoom
- A&O Part 3: In-person, on-campus community connection meetings
International students: You must also complete the International Student Services (ISS) Pre-Arrival Checklist. You’ll also be invited to Regional Connection Groups in the summer and International Welcome Programs Sept. 21 – Oct. 2.
Parents and families can register for the optional Family Orientation live on Zoom. Find newsletters, videos, our Parent & Family Guide and more on the Parent & Family website.
WHY:
In A&O, you’ll connect with peer leaders, faculty, advisers and fellow incoming Huskies as you explore course registration, discover campus resources and start building a sense of community at the UW.
WHEN:
- A&O Part 1: Access your New Husky Checklist within 1–2 business days of accepting your offer of admission for important reservation notices and required steps before reserving A&O Part 2.
- A&O Part 2: The reservation system opens May 20. A&O Part 2 will be held on Zoom from July through August. Please plan to be in a quiet/private space on a computer with reliable internet.
- A&O Part 3: Will begin Sept. 22–25 on campus. Meeting times will vary.
