Congratulations on your student’s admission to the UW! It’s an achievement to be proud of — and we know you’ve been an essential part of all the steps leading up to this moment. The college decision can be both exciting and overwhelming for students and their families. But rest assured that while the UW is large, it’s not impersonal — we help students find their smaller community of peers and mentors based on their interests and goals.

Family Orientation

One of the great ways we help our students and families have a strong start at the UW is through Family Orientation. Whether your family lives 5 or 5,000 miles from campus, we want to make sure that all parents and families have access to resources and information in support of their student’s success.

• There is no additional charge for access to Family Orientation resources.
• Students who want to register family members for orientation must do so when they register for an Advising & Orientation session in May.
• Sessions are offered June through September for autumn admits and in December for winter admits.
