Undergraduate Research Conference Travel Awards
Publicly communicating your own research and sharing your ideas with others are important parts of engaging in academic research.
The Undergraduate Research Conference Travel Award:
- Enables you to extend your research experience by contributing to important discussions of current research at professional conferences; and,
- Provides funding toward conference travel expenses and registration fees.
Please note: This funding is not provided for students to carry out research. See our Research Funding page for more information on funding to carry out research.
We encourage all students who have a paper, poster, or scholarly creative work that has been accepted for professional presentation to apply for an award.
Application
Applications are taken on a continuing basis and must be submitted at least three weeks prior to departure date.
Regarding funding in advance versus reimbursement of expenses, please note:
- If you are more than six weeks from your departure date, your award (if approved) will allow for partial funding in advance for relevant expenses.
- Whereas, if you are less than six weeks from your departure date, your award (if approved) will more than likely be in the form of a reimbursement for relevant expenses.
