What do we do?

The AROMAD team members from the Assessment and Research at Office of Minority Affairs & Diversity (AROMAD) provide diversity data and reports for grant proposals (US Dept. Ed.; NSF; NIH), annual reports, gifts, and operational projects within OMAD.

  • UW Board of Regents: 3 Campus Diversity (Ethnic/Race/Socio-Economic (ex. First Generation, Low-Income)) Report – Diversity enrollment trends, graduation rates (maximum representation and unirace model); Comparative diversity data analysis among public and private 4-year institutions within State of Washington, and the United States as a whole.
  • UW Vice President for Minority Affairs & Diversity: Various diversity data requests including UW Board of Regents Diversity Report; Black Diversity Report.
  • UW Associate Vice Presidents of Minority Affairs and Diversity: Various diversity data requests including EOP demographics data; EOP scholarship data.

  • UW Educational Opportunity Program (EOP): QUARTERLY EOP/OMAD Student Grades, Academic Status (ex. Dean’s List, Probation), Student Attrition, and Graduation Report; Comparative data analysis with non-EOP students in their grades, academic status, attrition, and graduation; EOP Scholarship data query.
  • UW Health Sciences Center Minority Students Program (HSCMSP): Annual Performance Report data; Grant Renewal Proposal data; Recruitment diversity data with specific academic course performance analysis. NSF and NIH grant proposal data.
  • UW Instructional Center (IC): Individual quarterly course grade/performance analysis; IC utilization, performance, and degree production analysis.
  • Math Science Upward Bound University of Washington: Initial Grant and Grant Renewal Proposal data within University of Washington.
  • UW Multicultural Outreach and Recruitment: Weekly Admissions Diversity Reports providing recruiters with applicant names, academic and admission status, and contact information for 41 weeks (Maximum Representation and Unirace Model) every academic year; Summary Diversity Report at the end of week 41 every academic year; Enrollment trend report for incoming students for past 12+ years. Individual and Group Data training.
  • UW OMAD Advancement: UW-Seattle demographic data in relation to private and public grants, gifts, and other funds.
  • UW OMAD Fiscal Services: Automation of Fiscal Data.
  • UW Louis Stokes Alliance for Minority Participation (LSAMP): Annual Performance Report data; Initial Grant and Grant Renewal Proposal data. Quarterly Grades, Academic Status, Student Attrition, and Graduation Report. Individual and Group Data training in MS Access and MS Excel in relation to the Program’s tasks.
  • UW RISE UP SKY/GEAR UP: High-school information within University of Washington in relation to Program’s operations; Geolocation data: student proximity to service centers. Instructions in descriptive and inferential statistics (t-test and chi-square test). OSPI data instructions.
  • UW Ronald E. McNair Post-Baccalaureate Achievement Program: Quarterly Grades, Student Attrition, Graduation Report data; Grant Renewal Proposal data. Restructuring/cleaning post-graduate placement and degree attainment data via National Student Clearinghouse for analysis. Individual and Group Data training in MS Access and MS Excel in relation to the Program’s tasks.
  • Samuel E. Kelly Ethnic Cultural Center: Maximum Representation Diversity Data (Admissions Data) for incoming freshman and transfer students for Welcome Daze event and Graduation Ceremony; Student groups liaison data.
  • UW TRIO Student Support Services: Student Grades, Academic Status (ex. Dean’s List, Probation), Student Attrition, and Graduation Report; Annual Performance Report data; Grant Renewal Proposal data.
  • Washington MESA: Annual Performance Report data; Grant Renewal Proposal data within University of Washington.
  • UW Upward Bound: Grant Renewal Proposal data.
  • UW wǝɫǝbʔaltxʷ – Intellectual House: Native American Advisory Board Diversity Report– Diversity enrollment trends, graduation rates (maximum representation and unirace model), degree production, and comparative analysis within State of Washington, and the United States(National). Outreach data for communication (maximum representation). Public and private grants and gifts proposal data.
  • Washington Student Achievement Council: 2013 URM (Underrepresented Minority) Diversity data mining and analysis –Graduation rate, enrollment, STEM and non-STEM degree attainment and gap of 2-year private, 2-year public, 4-year public and private universities within State of Washington and the entire United States via Integrated Postsecondary Education Data System (IPEDS)/National Center for Education Statistics with Dr. Jose Hernandez and Dr. Ismael Fajardo.
