Dr. Edwards Lange Throws Strike on Dawg Daze Night at Safeco Field

By Office of Minority Affairs & Diversity

UW Vice President for Minority Affairs and Vice Provost for Diversity Dr. Sheila Edwards Lange participated in the ceremonial first pitch on Dawg Daze Night at Safeco Field, Wednesday, by throwing a strike to senior David Bahr.

Joining Dr. Edwards Lange and Bahr on the field during the first pitch ceremony were First-Year Programs Director Grant Kollet and Kip Lange. Following the pitch, UW representatives met and received autographs from Mariners’ catcher Miguel Olivo. The UW Men’s Glee Club sang the National Anthem.

The Mariners’ game on Sept. 28 was one of several activities offered to students during the week-long Dawg Daze event that welcomes new students into the campus community.
