What is the Undergraduate Research Collective?
The Undergraduate Research Collective is an initiative aimed at increasing access to research opportunities for first and second year undergraduates with no prior research experience.
Research was the piece that tied my UW journey together, integrating academic and personal growth. In my lab, I found an academic family: Mentors who have encouraged me through challenges, taught me essential techniques, and helped me to think through my future in grad school or industry. My coursework became more meaningful, as I saw the chemistry concepts I had learned about used in real life to contribute to science with a real impact. I can’t imagine my UW experience without research.
Are you a first or second year undergraduate who is curious about research?
Many UW students report that research was the most meaningful part of their undergraduate experience. If you are curious about research and are looking for a community to support you during your time at UW, we hope you will consider applying!
Meet the faculty mentors in the Undergraduate Research Collective!
We have an incredible list of faculty who are excited to serve as mentors within the Undergraduate Research Collective. In the program application, students will indicate which mentors and research areas they prefer to be matched with.
The Undergraduate Research Collective would not be possible without generous support from our donors!
Your gift helps to ensure early career undergraduates have access to transformative research experiences that serve as a bridge to community, confidence and rewarding careers.
