Husky Pawket Guide
From the desk of Dr. Denzil Suite
UW Division of Student Life
Hello Husky,
To our new students, welcome! And to our returning students, welcome back!
For those of you who are new to the UW, I’m Denzil Suite, your Vice President for Student Life, and I’m so excited to start this new academic year with you.
Student Life is a key part of your support team here at the UW. Whether you need career advice, a space to meet up with friends, a snack before class, mental health support, a place to work out or so much more, our 18 departments have you covered.
I’ll be sending you these messages (Pawket Guide — get it?) every other week with tips and important info from Student Life and our campus partners to help you make the most of your time here. You can also follow us on Instagram (@uwstudentlife) to stay in the loop.
Let’s get into it!
Sincerely,
Denzil

Campus Safety

Great ShakeOut
Life in the Pacific Northwest comes with two certainties: you’re going to need a good raincoat, and it’s only a matter of time before the next earthquake.
Learn what to do when the ground starts shaking (drop, cover and hold on) and practice during the Great ShakeOut earthquake drill at 10:15 a.m. on Thursday, Oct. 15. Watch for a UW Alert test message, then join the drill.
Learn more and check out videos showing how to respond if an earthquake happens while you’re in bed, driving, in a crowded space or are somewhere without a sturdy table.
