Everyone’s a Husky at UW Family Weekend, our annual celebration of #UWFamily.

Join us Oct. 14–16 to spend time with your Husky and get a taste of campus life. Share the W Day tradition at our party in Red Square, enjoy great food and new friends at the UW Family Tailgate, and root for the Huskies at Homecoming. Bring the whole family and create fun memories!

Husky Statue at Husky Union Building (HUB)
Join us on a 75-minute student-led campus tour. The tour will cover popular spots including the Quad, Suzzallo Library Reading Room, Red Square and Drumheller Fountain. The tour will depart from the Husky Statue at the west entrance of the Husky Union Building (HUB).

Explore the historic home of “The Boys in the Boat.” Come to the spot once known as stəx̌ʷugʷił” (stukh-ug-weelth) or “carry a canoe” — a place of gathering and portage for the Indigenous Lakes Duwamish people of this land. The building here was a WWI Navy seaplane hangar and then the humble training grounds for Washington Rowing and the workshop of legendary boatmaker George Pocock. The UW and generous community leaders have embarked on a capital campaign to restore this National Register building and Seattle landmark to be woven into our campus traditions as an inviting place of history and inspiration for the community.

This deliberately unstructured day is a chance to relax and hang out with your Husky before you head home. Hop on the Link light rail to explore the city's many attractions — visit Pike Place Market for flying fish, catch a ferry for stunning views of Mt. Rainier or celebrate the Space Needle’s 60th anniversary.

The U District neighborhood around campus, centered around “The Ave” (University Way NE), is a great place to make family memories. Find your new favorite restaurant, visit University Book Store for discounts and special items, and check out other family-friendly activities.
